Domaine Hubert Lamy has become one of White Burgundy’s fastest-rising stars, producing intensely mineral, terroir-driven Chardonnay. From the windswept slopes of Saint-Aubin En Remilly, this bottling delivers electric tension, refined fruit, and the precision that has made Olivier Lamy an icon.

John Gilman | 93 Points

"The 2016 Remilly chez Lamy is equally outstanding. The vibrant bouquet wafts from the glass in a youthful mix of pear, apple, a touch of tangerine, a complex base of limestone, incipient pastry cream, apple blossoms and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is crisp, fullbodied, long and still quite primary, with a rock solid core, great backend mineral drive and a long, zesty and seamlessly balanced finish. This needs a bit of bottle age to allow its inherent complexity to really emerge. Just a lovely wine. 2022-2045."

Saint-Aubin’s Breakout Star in White Burgundy

Domaine Hubert Lamy has quickly gone from under-the-radar to a must-have name in White Burgundy. Founded in the 1970s and now helmed by Olivier Lamy, the estate crafts razor-sharp, terroir-driven Chardonnay that rivals Grand Cru without the Grand Cru price (for now).

Olivier’s winemaking is all about precision and purity. No new oak, no fining or filtration, just native yeasts and older barrels that let the vineyard do the talking. These are tense, mineral-laced wines that deliver clarity, structure, and unmistakable energy.

This 30 hectare vineyard benefits from both large size and high quality, the best combination, and particularly useful in a low-yielding vintages. Lying to the north-east of the village at the top of the slope, on poor soils that are made even more challenging to work by the strong winds that pass but which do help build concentration of fruit, as well as keeping the crop healthy. The price tag for this, as for all of Olivier’s wines is extremely modest, at around half the price of a good Meursault Premier Cru but with all the same refinement, classy barrel ageing and refined fruit character.

With demand soaring and availability shrinking, Lamy’s wines are quickly moving from sommelier secret to collector staple. If you want white Burgundy with purity, power, and aging potential - En Remilly is it.
