Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey (PYCM) is one of the defining winemakers of modern white Burgundy. Known for a meticulous, almost obsessive approach to farming and élevage, he produces wines with intensity, tension, and immaculate balance.
The 2018 vintage in Burgundy delivered ripe, concentrated fruit, but the greatest producers still managed to preserve tension and definition — and Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey is at the top of that list. His wines from 2018 capture richness without weight, purity without austerity, and the kind of mineral precision that has made PYCM one of the most sought-after white Burgundy producers in the world.
Les Chenevottes sits just below the Grand Cru Le Montrachet slope, on a mix of limestone and light clay that produces Chassagne with lifted aromatics and silky texture. In PYCM’s hands, the site becomes laser-shaped and deeply expressive: citrus oil, white peach, crushed rock, hazelnut, and a cool, driving mineral line that anchors the wine from start to finish.
Fermented and aged in large, lightly toasted barrels (no heavy oak), this is white Burgundy made with total precision and humming with energy.
