With a prime location on rich clay soils and some of Pomerol’s oldest vines, L’Eglise Clinet is a benchmark estate, with Robert Parker calling the 1995 “one of the vintage’s most awesome wines.” Crafted from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, this full-bodied Bordeaux packs layers of red fruit, spice, truffle, all wrapped in a silky texture.

Robert Parker | 96 Points

"One of the vintage's most awesome wines, L'Eglise-Clinet's 1995 has been fabulous from both cask and bottle. The color is opaque purple. The wine is closed aromatically, but it does offer a concoction of black raspberries, kirsch, smoke, cherries, and truffles. Full-bodied and rich, with high tannin, but profound levels of fruit and richness, this dense, exceptionally well-delineated, layered, multidimensional L'Eglise-Clinet only hints at its ultimate potential. This looks to be a legend in the making. I could not get over the extraordinary texture of this wine in the mouth. Intensity and richness without heaviness - a tour de force in winemaking!"

L’Eglise Clinet is one of the great offerings from Pomerol. Often mentioned in the same breath as icons like Pétrus and La Fleur - minus the sky high price tag - Robert Parker dubbed it the “sleeper château of the century”

With a prime location on rich clay soils and some of Pomerol’s oldest vines, this wine delivers on every level. Crafted from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, it’s full-bodied, concentrated with layers of ripe red fruit and spices. In other words, pure velvet in a glass!
