A Premier Cru from one of Gevrey-Chambertin's most celebrated sites, part of Jadot's own estate holdings, from a generous, well-balanced Burgundy vintage. Deep, structured and layered with red berry fruit, this is Pinot Noir with real staying power, already delicious with more to give.

Founded in 1826, Domaine Louis Jadot is one of Burgundy's great institutions, producing nearly 200 labels from village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru sites across the Côte d'Or, a mix of estate-owned vineyards and negociant sourcing built over two centuries.

Clos Saint-Jacques is one of Gevrey-Chambertin's most celebrated Premier Cru sites and part of Jadot's own estate holdings, often spoken of in the same breath as the top Grand Crus.

2017 was a welcome, calmer vintage after several difficult years in Burgundy, with even flowering, a settled growing season and healthy fruit that finally let growers fill their cellars after a run of small crops.

The 2017 Clos Saint-Jacques shows real depth and structure from that generous year, with critics pointing to sweet red berry fruit, coffee and cocoa notes layered against firm, satiny tannin and bright acidity, already showing plenty of charm.

Now nearly a decade from harvest, it's drinking with real freshness and plenty of runway still ahead for those willing to wait!

Wine Enthusiast | 95 Points

"With its dense tannins and concentration, this wine is impressive both for aging and for its power. With bold structure the wine sustains the black fruits with verve. It will age well and will not be ready before 2025"

Wine Advocate | 92-94+ Points

"The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jacques (Domaine Louis Jadot) unfurls in the glass with an incipiently complex bouquet of sweet red berries, coffee roast, raw cocoa, candied peel and cedary new wood. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, ample and layered, with an abundance of satiny structuring tannin, juicy acids and a long, pure finish. As usual, this will require some bottle age, but it's one of the high points of the collection."
