A rare Grand Cru Chardonnay from one of Burgundy's most obsessive white winemakers. Dense, mineral-driven and built on classic Corton-Charlemagne structure, the 2014 is entering a beautiful window to drink. Offered in its original 6-pack case, seldom seen on the market!

Corton-Charlemagne is one of Burgundy's great white Grand Crus, a broad, south and southeast-facing band of limestone slope shared among a handful of the region's finest growers, and it's one of the few Grand Cru sites PYCM has access to.

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey's style on white Burgundy is famously restrained, larger 350-liter barrels rather than standard Burgundy pièces, no bâtonnage, and long lees aging, an approach built to preserve tension and site character rather than layer on richness or oak.

2014 is remembered as a classical, structured vintage in Burgundy, and this Corton-Charlemagne shows exactly that kind of backbone, dense and mineral-driven with real length and a structure critics have compared to a serious red wine in its youth.

It's a wine that rewards patience, and now over a decade from harvest, it's entering a much more open, rewarding stage. Corton-Charlemagne from PYCM is produced in genuinely tiny quantities and rarely comes to market, and this parcel is offered in its original 6-bottle cardboard case, a true rarity for collectors chasing one of Burgundy's most sought-after white Grand Crus.

Stephen Tanzer | 92-94 Points

"Pale yellow. High-pitched aromas of lime, minerals, wild herbs and lavender. Dense, thick and classically dry, showing a slightly buttery quality in the middle palate and a distinctly tannic impression on the long finish. This has the breadth and structure of a red wine and is almost painful in the early going."

Burghound | 92-94 Points

"The cool and restrained nose only grudgingly offers up notes of green apple, lemon and wet stone scents. The broad-shouldered flavors possess outstanding richness and serious volume as the mid-palate brims with mouth coating dry extract before culminating in a tension-filled, balanced and wonderfully persistent, indeed even explosive finish. Note well that at least some patience is strongly advised."
