David Abreu is Napa Valley royalty - renowned as its most meticulous vineyard manager and one of its finest winemakers. A third-generation Napa native, he grew up farming alongside his father and grandfather before founding Abreu Vineyards in the 1980s.

For decades, Abreu has been the quiet force behind Napa’s greatest wines, consulting for icons like Screaming Eagle, Harlan, and Colgin. His obsession with detail - high-density planting, matching clones to soils with surgical precision, and farming each row like a grand cru - set a new benchmark for the valley.

At the heart of his legacy is Madrona Ranch, the first vineyard he developed. Widely regarded as one of Napa’s top sites for Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2012 Madrona Ranch is a blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, plus small touches of Petit Verdot and Merlot.
